M3U or Xtream Codes: What Is the Difference and Which Should You Use?
The two login methods that IPTV plans use, in simple words, and how to choose between them.
When you get an IPTV subscription, you usually receive login details in one or both of two formats: an M3U link or Xtream Codes. Our IPTV plans provide both.
M3U link
An M3U link is a single web address that points to your channel playlist. You paste it into your player app and the app loads your channels. It is simple, and it works in almost every IPTV app.
Xtream Codes
Xtream Codes uses three things: a username, a password and a server URL. You enter them in an app that supports Xtream login. Many apps handle categories and the program guide more neatly this way.
Which should you use?
- If your app has an Xtream login option, try it first.
- If it only asks for a playlist, use the M3U link.
- Both give access to the same subscription. You do not need to choose in advance, because we send both.
Which devices can use them?
Any device that can run an IPTV player app that supports M3U or Xtream Codes, such as Android phones and TV boxes, Firestick, Smart TVs, iPhone and iPad, and Windows or Mac computers.
